Maintaining signal quality through video equalisation.

The biggest problem

Loss of image quality is the biggest problem you face when sending high-resolution video over CATx cable at distances greater than 30 metres.

As cable length increases, picture quality decreases. Smearing is caused by the cable attenuating high-frequency signals. The image is also dimmer because of the cable’s resistance at low frequencies.

Fine tuning the total system

ServSwitch™ Brand CATx KVM Extenders feature controls that can be adjusted to restore image quality over long cables.

You can then manually adjust the video equalisation (fine-tuning the total system response from graphics card output to your eye).

This can’t be attained with automatic equalisation based on cable length measurement alone.
