The Agility Extender enables high-performance, real-time extensions of DVI video, audio, USB HID, USB 2.0, RS-232 over a Gigabit network This enables you to locate your critical computing hardware in a secure and temperature controlled environment away from the user work station, whilst maintaining a pixel perfect desktop experience.
Flexible choice of link media The Agility offers besides the CATx link also an additional SFP link port converting the Agility into a fibre extender. Use the CATx interface for extensions up to 100 meters. If you need to extend further, simply add a 1GbE network device to achieve an additional 100 meters. This can be repeated many times for unlimited distances within the LAN. You may also fit the SFP-port with a multimode SFP and cable for distances up to 500m, or a single-mode SFP and cable for distances as great as 10.000m. Pixel-perfect, color accurate video The Agility is capable of delivering pixel perfect HD video along with the peripheral signals to each remote user. Three extender models are available. The Single Link Agility (ACR1000A-R2) extends one single link DVI channel with resolutions up to 1920x1200/1080p. The Agility Dual DH (ACR1020A) supports two single link DVI channels (2x 1920x1200/1080p), while the Agility Dual DL and Dual VNC (ACR1002A/ACR1012A-T) are capable of extending either one dual link DVI channel with resolutions up to 2560x1600 or two full HD single link DVI channels. For demanding video applications the Agility Extenders can be set up with bandwidth aggregation to support resolutions up to 1080p or RGB 4:4:4 with 60 fps. An intelligent EDID management allows the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer. This ensures perfect video display without additional configuration. Teaming for redundancy and link aggregation The Agility extender units support Teaming (two MAC addresses per unit) allowing two independent 1GB Ethernet links. Establish one link through the CATx link and the second link using the SFO-Port with an appropriate SFP transceiver. The units are able to detect whether the network is in operation and can automatically change to its second network port if a failure is detected. That way, mission- critical computer/user connections can be setup with full redundancy — ideal for Process Automation, Control Rooms, or Broadcast Play out, and Operations. Or use the second link for bandwidth aggregation to provide a high 2GB through put. With load-balanced video, 60fps on a single 1920 x 1200/1080p or RGB4:4:4 screen can be maintained even when every pixel is moving. Using two dual screens showing two different sets of content, 30fps can be guaranteed making it the perfect solution for high demanding applications like the distribution of radio graphs in hospitals, POST Production, Dubbing Theatres, or Simulations. USB 2.0 The Agility Extender supports a wide range of USB devices from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks and 3D explorers, alongside mass storage devices. For applications where security is of high importance, the system has even the ability to disable the use of non-HID devices, meaning there is no need to physically block USB ports to prevent the use of mass storage devices. Out-of-band Remote Access The Agility Dual VNC (ACR1012) offers an additional RJ-45 management port for remote access down to the BIOS-level over VNC or Java for system control and immediate disaster recovery. The ability of controlling the system out-of-band cuts down potential downtime due to quicker service capabilities on one hand and on the other hand reduces cost for servicing deployed PCs/Workstations from a central location and without having Service Personnel on the Road Easy Migration into a Matrix setup The Agility Extenders are part of the Agility Matrix Switching solution. Simply connect further computers and users via the extender units and control them through the IPATH controller. iPATH is a management server which transforms the Agility Extender units into a digital matrix switching solution. Connected over Ethernet switches it is possible to route any user station to any computer attached to the network without any compromises to HD video quality or control. It also allows co-operative sharing of computers and multicasting of video to any destination. This flexible topology of the Agility allows a variety of applications:
