The LMCU700 is a media converter aimed at the Gigabit Ethernet arena, offering low cost conversion from twisted pair 10/100BASE-T to 100BASE-FX with either multimode or single-mode fibre options. There are three members of this product family.
LMCU700 Multimode fibre for distances up to 2km
LMCU701 Single-Mode fibre, short haul for distances up to 15km
LMCU702 Single-Mode fibre, long haul for distances up to 40km.
To ensure reliable operation, the units supports Link State Forwarding, whereby a fault on the fibre will automatically force a link down on the copper port to indicate to the attached device that there is a link problem.
The 100BASE-FX interface is presented using duplex SC fibre transceivers.
There is a choice of 100-250VAC or -48VDC integrated power supplies. Rack mounting units are available to mount either 2 or 18 unit modules in a 19 inch rack.
