About I/O Modules
Use the to equip your ServSwitch™ DKM FX with user and computer connections. The ServSwitch DKM FX Matrix KVM Switch enables you to configure HD KVM switching and DVI routing exactly as you require. Mix and match fibre and CATx and SDI ports through these cards and SFPs plugged into its slots. You’re not limited in any way.

Choose from various I/O options:
The CATx I/O module (ACXIO8-C) offers 8 CATx RJ45 ports. The Fibre I/O modules (ACXI08-SM), and Highspeed Fiber module with 2.5 Gbps (ACXIO8-HS) include eight SFP transceiver ports with 8 duplex LC connectors. You may use it for multimode connections up to 1 km (0.6 mi) as well as singlemode connections up to 10 km (6.2 mi). The SFP I/O module (ACXI08-SFP) includes 8 empty SFP ports for utmost flexibility. Plug in any mix of fibre (ACXSFPS ) and CATx (ACXSFPC ) SFPs. The SDI I/O module provides eight SDI input and 8 SDI output slots. Publish this module with SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI SFPs for BNC copper or fiber links.

Switch Design:
First choose a chassis depending on the number of user and computers you want to control. Think about future expansion needs.
Next select the required I/O modules depending on your cable media and the distances of users and computers from the switch location. Don’t forget to order also SFPs, if you have selected empty or SDI I/O modules.
Finally choose an extender transmitter unit for each connected computer and an extender receiver unit for each connected user. The DKM extenders offer a wide range of interfaces that not only supports DVI-D digital video, but also VGA, and other analog video formats plus a wide array of peripherals, including USB HID, USB 2.0, RS-232, and IR devices, Wacom® tablets, and even legacy PS/2 keyboards and mice.

About DKM Switching and Extension
Using non-blocking switch technology, the ServSwitch DKM FX processes and routes DVI single-link resolutions, including Full HD 1080p, with little or no delay of video—even at screens far away from the switching chassis itself.

What’s more, it not only supports DVI-D digital video, but also VGA video and connections to a wide array of peripherals, including USB HID, USB 2.0, RS-232, and IR devices, Wacom® tablets, and even legacy PS/2 keyboards and mice.

It’s especially ideal for enterprise networks and mission-critical control/command rooms, as well as video production or broadcasting applications where HD video is everything. Many users can connect their KVM consoles to various multimedia sources (computer, CPUs, servers, etc.), either locally or in a distant room or office via the switch.

And it’s very flexible. The ServSwitch DKM FX Matrix KVM Switch enables you to configure HD KVM switching and DVI routing exactly as you require. Mix and match fibre and CATx ports through cards and SFPs plugged into its slots. You’re not limited in any way.

With the switch, you get a controller card, which has USB keyboard/mouse and DVI monitor connectors for local KVM administration; an RJ-45 port for interfacing up with your network and a client machine that has the DKM FX Java tool installed; and a serial port for control via an external RS-232 device. Because the card has a built-in CPU, you can control all functions from any console without the need for an external CPU or media control.

OS platform independent, the switch and its controller card can be accessed by Windows®, Linux®, and/or Mac OS® users.

Versatile switching capabilities.
Switching can be performed using an on-screen display (OSD), keyboard commands, or through a local serial console connection at the rack. You can also switch from a remote site via a ServSwitch DKM Extender. Or control it via a Creston® or AMX® keypad controller plugged into the extender. No matter the route, KVM switching can be shared with any other KVM user, connected directly or connected remotely through a ServSwitch DKM Extender.

Switches within milliseconds.
Users can switch seamlessly and almost instantaneously from DVI to KVM video on the ServSwitch DKM FX Matrix KVM Switch. It takes just milliseconds for this to happen (similar IP-based types of solutions can take as long as 15 seconds to perform this action).

Reduces downtime.
Modular in design, the ServSwitch DKM FX enables you to change peripheral and CPU connections on the fly and ensure zero downtime. Add or remove cards and SFPs in the slots and reroute inputs and outputs while the ServSwitch DKM FX system’s up and running.

Designed for easy expansion.
Add connections and change inputs/outputs as your enterprise needs evolve. When a department purchases new hardware, just slide a new interface card into the chassis. You can also cascade multiple switch chassis if you exceed the number of available ports.

Signal repeater capabilities are built in.
From its ports, the switch supports device-to-device single-mode fibre links up to 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) and CATx links up to 140m (460 feet)*. These links can be to KVM users, DVI sources, servers, and/or various peripherals. However, the switch also works with ServSwitch DKM Extenders for even longer links. Used midway between an extender transmitter and extender receiver, the switch works as a repeater, essentially doubling your distance—up to 40 kilometers (24.8 mi.) over fiber and 280m (920 feet) over CATx. You can even configure CATx on an input for output on fiber, or vice versa.

The Matrix Grid I/O
Board is used with the DKM Modular KVM Matrix Switches, which provide a high-performance, modular enterprise routing system for complete in-band signal distribution of high-definition video, audio, and data over CATx, multimode or single-mode fiber optic cable, supporting up to 576 I/O ports in a single frame.

Using the Grid I/O
Boards significantly reduces the cabling effort between DKM Modular KVM Matrix Switches. In a setup based on two matrices, the grid I/O boards can be directly connected via the fiber port. In a setup using multiple matrices, the second fiber port on each grid I/O board enables you to set up a ring topology with four grid connections on each port. Each matrix connects to two other matrices.
